Blog? I have a blog?

Blog? I have a blog? Oh-yeah...I do! I'm officially the worst 'make time to blog' blogger ever.

This week I have been working on some very awesome Steampunk jewelry. <3 it. It pretty steamalicious and affordable.

My Heart Belongs to Steampunk Ring...

This piece was made with a vintage Swiss movement. She's really gorgeous! I am working on 2 necklaces at the time. They are both almost finished!

http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5755949 You can visit our store to check out our items.

I am so lucky when it comes to finding beautiful truly vintage and antique items to make my jewelry. I love finding treasures to create with.

On another note. I have been baking more the past couple of weeks. Not only does it taste so yummy, but it makes your house smell so good. I can't wait until we have a bigger place with a kitchen I can move around in. I'll be a baking queen.

Gotta run!

Necklaces

I am all about necklaces right now. Whether it be finding a vintage necklace to add to my collection of lovelies at home or on our Etsy store. Or making one by hand. I am having so much fun with necklaces! I do miss making rings. I know I will get back to them in a bit, but right now it's all about the necklace.

What are you into?

Super-Pumped on Sunday

Sunday is our family day. We get up extra early and head out to a local flea market to find treasures for our home and Etsy store. All the old timers know us by name, and they are always giving our daughter stuffed animals and gifts. Ah, to be the Princess of the flea market...life is good.

After we search for treasures we head to Sunday dinner at Aunt B's house. Let me tell you...we look forward to this ALL week long. The food is country, home cooking...make your tongue slap your brains out...GOOD! It is also a day that I don't have to cook, and that is always fantabulous to me.

I hope that you have a (Sunday) not matter what day of the week it is.

We're off for now to go treasure hunt and be the total flea market geeks that we are.

Have a beautiful day.

Oh, dear...

Is that really the time?

We totally had brownies, ice cream and hot fudge for dinner. It was so awesome, and so much fun.

Finally we are all 100%. It was a very rough weekend. The kids were so sick. I'm so happy that my house doesn't smell of vomit any more.

We watched the most awesome movie tonight. The NetherBeast Incorporated. Loved it! It stars Steve Burns from Blues Clues....<3>He's such a nerd. I think I have a crush on him. The movie ruled. I think we need to buy it.

We have a new addition to our family. It is a flea market find. And it is quite possibly the most hideous piece of awesomeness you have ever seen. A velvet painting of some random dude smoking a pipe. The frame is gorgeous. And so...as I lay in our comfy bed at night and look out into our living room, this is what I see...

Try and control yourself. I know you are green with envy...or is that nausea? So when Ryan found this gem at the flea market one of my first questions was, "Are we going to 'try' and sell this one Etsy?", and he said..."Fuck no, this is a family heirloom." Yeah...he's that awesome, and that's why I love him. He hearts the most random things. And I totally get it...because I get him. Most women would be like you are NEVER hanging that in our home. But...if he loves it, I can live with it. In fact, I am almost getting used to the old man. His eyes follow me around the room, as if to say...Be cool, every thing is going to be all right. And at night when I stumble through to get to the bathroom, as trying not to trip over toys...there he is watching me. Smirking as if to say...I'm witnessing every dorky thing you do. Maybe we'll make up some elaborate story to tell LuLu as she gets older...who the old man is. Why we have the painting...why do we have it? Nah...because no story could ever be as awesome as our real life. Word.

Getting started

I am working on getting this blog officially up and running. Seriously...I don't run. Unless someone is chasing me. :0 I will blogging like a blog'o'maniac before its said and done, I'm sure.

I run an Etsy store along with my ultra-cool husband (and his famous mustache).

www.bellasmiles.etsy.com

You may have heard of us lately. There has been some hype over this little'ol painting called

Barack Obacca..yes, that is Ryan's creation. It was featured on the Star Wars blog (and those star wars fans totally get it) and many numerous blogs and twitters and so on. That painting started all for me or because of me. I am a 35 year old woman who is totally in love with Chewbacca. Yup...I admit it...I did it all for the Wookie! And, I also happen to be one of the meeelions of Americans totally in love and 100% supporting of our new President Barack Obama. So...Ryan being the creative genius that he is...he combined the two and so you have...The coolest Wookie meets The Coolest President. He is the man to get us through!
There have been some negative things said about the painting. And I won't go into that because this painting was brought about through fun, and love and creativeness, and there were NO negative thoughts involved. Art should be different and fun, and controversial. Art is not safe. And my husband is a TRUE artist. Anyway...if you know us...you know it's all cool.

Check out Barack Obacca http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?ref=sr_list_1&listing_id=17279667

Stop by and shop with us. We make cool stuff we like, and hope that some people come along that dig the coolness.
